Blowing Conch and Pre - OR Post Covid management...

Dear Readers, You will be surprised by hearing this news that what I am going to expose today for you and public welfare. As we know the entire world suffering from Covid -19 pandemic. Efforts are being made to escape from this but this dangerous virus not leaving us. It keeps on changing its gene sequences and always comes in new transformations. Various countries made efforts and develop vaccines to prevent the infection and death rate from such pandemics. The world had already faced two waves of the Covid -19 and again fear is still on regarding the third wave. Everything should not be left over to the Government of the particular countries but we have to come forward to take care of ourselves.

It has practically been observed that persons those are suffering from multiple health complaints, severe diabetic, respiratory problems like acute or chronic asthma or heart problem found high in risk in the Covid - 19 periods as the aforesaid disease directly related to weakening the immune system and the poorer immune may invite this disease fast.

There are many medicines that have been made available to make us survive from the disease but as we know that the Covid - 19 affects directly the lungs and therefore, it is now most important to make our lungs strengthen to cope with such pre-or post-Covid conditions. Have you ever seen doctors are prescribing blowing exercises in the Covide patient along with some exercises eg Prone Exercise (A great example of the use of the prone position is the yoga Cobra pose? In yoga Cobra, you lie on your stomach and then gently push your head, shoulders, and chest up off the floor. Prone and supine are among a number of terms that describe your position while exercising or receiving manual therapy). 

So, is it better to go to the hospital and do the blowing exercises or Prone exercise by expending a huge amount and also much mental stress? 

Absolutely NO. Then, what should we do? Yes! We can start blowing exercise slowly at home whether we are affected with Covid Or Not, it does not matter. Only our motto should be to strengthen our chest as well as pulmonary muscles (From a functional point of view, there are three groups of respiratory muscles: the diaphragm, the rib cage muscles, and the abdominal muscles. Each group acts on the chest wall and its compartments, i.e. the lung-apposed rib cage, the diaphragm-apposed rib cage, and the abdomen). So, if the muscles get stronger, automatic alveoli in the lungs chamber get strength and capacity to absorb more oxygen, and purification of blood will be more. This may help to support other vital organs like the heart, kidney liver, etc. and then the frequent respiratory infection will also be reduced. The chance of sticking other microbes along with the Covide virus in the nostrils and lungs membrane will be decreased. 

What Should Do?

Yes! we have to perform natural blowing exercises and Pranayam. Blowing exercise may be performed with the help of  Blowing Conch. A conch is a sea snail in the phylum Mollusca. A conch shell has superior strength and is used as a musical instrument or decoration. It consists of about 95% calcium carbonate and 5% organic matter. Blowing conch is obtained by the exoskeleton of mature marine mollusks known as Turbinella pyrum (Family - Turbinellidae).

Many of the people have been seen to blowing conch as an auspicious ground by my opinion becomes different when in Lockdown period I have selected 15 families and advice them to practice blowing conch twice a day minimum of five times for each member (except very small children) Though, the second door of the same family found fully affected with Corona but the family who started blowing the Conch (Shankh) wonderfully escaped, some of the member-only got some little body pain, fever, and cough just for 2-3 days. This exercise was advised to the other family including myself when the first time come to know that the corona enters our locality.

The selected family was advised to take germinated Kala chana (black chickpeas) and boiled milk followed by regular drinking of hot water daily and Kabasura kudineer  (morning and evening 20 ml for 5 days)   

I have got a wonderful result when met a senior citizen who has been advised to practice blowing the conch and was an asthmatic patient, unable to control his breath even 10 seconds was seen to control his breath more than minutes. Continuous blowing conch made the chest muscles strong. Now he is also feeling well relaxed in asthma.
